Owners sign available free agents in-app on the free-agent board (first-come, first-served). When a rostered player is released, this priority order decides who gets first call — the team highest on the list — and those contested adds are settled in the owner room.
When a player is dropped, they pass through waivers before becoming a true free agent. Waivers give every team a fair shot at a released player instead of first-come, first-served.

Any owner with an open roster spot can claim the player during the waiver window.

When the window closes the claim is awarded by the priority order above; unclaimed players become open free agents.
